This unique knowledge exchange experience is an opportunity to explore Native Indigenous culture through Indigenous science and food. Your host, Andrea Condes (Murdoch) is a transracial adoptee from South America who is reclaiming her own Andean Indigeneity through cooking and farming.

Upon gathering, Andrea will walk attendees through a closed farming system, Pachamama5453. Pachamama is a Quechua word for Mother Earth. 5453 is the elevation at which this land exists and where Andrea grows Native Indigenous crops. She will reference key crops that are featured during The Rooted Andina tasting and knowledge exchange. As Andrea guides the group through the flavors of our ancestral foods, we will also engage in a deeper understanding of what it means to decolonize our diets by re-centering our pre-colonial traditional foods and foodways. Andrea offers a captivating way of sharing culture including teachings of survivance, traditional ecological knowledge and decolonization. The Rooted Andina team strives to provide you with an embodied taste memory of celebration and resistance.

The Rooted Andina: Elevating Indigenous culture through food and education

Mission: To create a full cycle system on one plot of land as a way to exhibit Indigenous agriculture, sciences and foodways and facilitate cultural education through immersive food experiences and workshops.

Goal: To create a sustainable and healthy ecosystem utilizing Indigenous knowledge on one plot of land that can then be translated to community members in a safe and cultural space, as to sustain a 12-person gathering space.

You have never brunched like this before. The IndigeBrunch experience is a family style service of an immersive four (4) course tasting experience, exclusive etymology conversation and knowledge share. Guests are encouraged to BYOB if they would like additional beverages.
